The Ministry Of Health in the State of Kuwait collaborates with other entities to provide clinical expertise to Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC) and strengthen cancer service delivery at the KCCC. Through this collaboration, KCCC offers our patients an access to the best internationally-certified cancer services, while ensuring continuous improvement of cancer care in Kuwait. We also focus on improving nursing and physician education, health administration and information technology. We continue to expand our experience while developing systems and innovative approaches that would benefit our patients.

NSCLC (Induction)

Indicated in patient with higher risk of toxicity from combined modalities.

  1. patients with bulky stage III, in which large radiation field will be needed.
  2. patients with compromised pulmonary functions
The rational is to down stage the extend of the disease to be render for local modality, either surgery or chemo-radiation.

NSCLC (Adjuvant)

Indicated in patients with:

  1. stage IA disease who have high risk features: poorly differentiated tumors, vascular invasion, wedge resection, or incomplete LN sampling.
  2. stage IB, stage II, and stage IIIA (non-bulky).

NSCLC (Non-resectable locally advanced or Metastatic)

Patients with non-resectable locally advanced or metastatic lung cancer are candidate for:

  1. systemic treatment including; palliative chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, or immune-checkpoint inhibitors.
  2. palliative radiation therapy for symptomatic sites.
  3. clinical trials, after approval of KCCC Research Advisory Committee.
  4. Best supportive care.

NSCLC (Combined Modalities)

Indicated in patients with non-resectable locally advanced disease (bulky stage IIIA and stage IIIB).

SCLC (Extensive Stage)

The aim of treatment of extensive stage small cell lung cancer is to shrink the tumor, relieve symptoms, and improve quality of life.

Neuroendocrine Tumors of the Lung

Malignant mesothelioma is a rare cancer that found in the pleura, peritoneum, or tunica vaginalis of the testis. The aim of treatment is to shrink the tumor, relieve symptoms, and improve quality of life.
